Kurt Welke, the fisheries manager for Dane and Green Counties sent the following Wisconsin links after his talk at our February 20th, 2012 meeting:
Stream Maps: Click on the link below, move to the county you want and select “Color Map”
Trout streams are indicated as Class I (Blue), Class II (Green), Class III (Yellow) & Special Regulations (Red):
DNR Fisheries Properties: Go to the county you want and select the creek or fishery area. When it opens select maps. The printable maps open at 150%. Selecting a smaller percentage makes them easier to read until you focus on an area which can then be enlarged. The interactive maps have a variety of features. “Map” gives a print map, “Satellite” gives a topo style map. Areas of the Satellite maps can also be selected.
Where to fish: Gives a wide variety of different types of places to fish for different species of fish. Click on a link to get further information. This is a very rich website that gives lots of information on what to fish for, seasonal data and places to fish. Spend some time exploring:
