Wild Rivers Chapter Trout Unlimited
The mission of Trout Unlimited is to conserve, protect and restore North America ’s coldwater fisheries and their watersheds.
The Wild Rivers chapter of TU is one of 21 chapters in Wisconsin, with about 190 members who work together to protect and preserve the coldwater resources of a beautiful part of the state. Our chapter serves Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, Iron, Sawyer, Polk and Burnett Counties in Northwest Wisconsin. Our projects include educational events like Kids Fishing Day, fly tying and casting classes, and projects that protect special places like the White River.
Several chapter events revolve around the restoration of the native coaster brook trout to the area, including Fin Clip Saturday, stream work on Whittlesey Creek, tree planting, and volunteering on stream fish survey crews. Chapter meetings are held monthly on the second Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at different locations in the area, including Brule, Seeley, and Ashland.
